A hand woven meditation on Seasons and Elements.
My first collection of ‘Seasonal Celebrations’, this is number 5 of 5. Made to lay on your table, provide a centrepiece for connection or create a home altar. A passion project that I’ve been working on behind the scenes this year. Referencing the four seasons and elements, prompting a time to connect and focus on where we are in the year, marking the rhythm and balance of nature.
Woven in wool and mill end yarns, using a double cloth technique on my 24 shaft workshop loom.
Each piece takes about a day in total to prepare, hand weave and hand finish. One of a very small batch, I am able to intuitively create pattern using fiber, texture and scale in my work meaning no two pieces will be identical, and will always hold a mark of the maker. As a lovingly hand woven piece, you may find small makers marks visible in your hanging, please rest assured that these eccentricities in no way impair the quality of your piece, instead they add to the story and connection held in a hand made product.
